Hilary Scott plays to promote awareness

The first Coffee House of the year featured local artist Hilary Scott and her band....who performed songs from their recently released CD, The Floating World.  The Coffee House, put together by the Student Government Association on a monthly basis, provides entertainment and snacks so that there are events students can attend on-campus.

   "We try to think of different things that students will enjoy going to," Sophomore Class President, Andrea Moy said.  Unlike most of the Coffee Houses, the place was packed with the couches full and students sitting on the floor and standing.

   This was an exciting Coffee House for SGA.  "We were really happy to see so many people there,"  Programming Chair of the SGA Laura Shippert siad.

   The turn out was not that surprising to Moy, "Hilary Scott likes to play at Stephens and the girls here just love her."...

   ..."I saw her play at the Twilight Festival outside of Cool Stuff, and I just fell in love with her music.  When I heard she was going to be at the Coffee House, I was so excited I made that day Hilary Scott Day," freshman Laura-Denise Maxwell said, "Hilary rules, she is constantly playing in my room."

This particular Coffee House was a special event not only because of Hilary Scott, but it also served as a kick off for Breast Cancer Awareness Month...
