Hello from Hilary Scott
Hilary Scott   Art In The Park
After a move across the country to the northwest, I am both getting settled in my new home, and preparing for some extensive traveling this fall and winter. I am very much looking forward to getting back to the Hilary Scott Band and mid-Missouri friends and fans in late August and the first part of September for several shows, and before I take that trip I will be performing twice in the Seattle area.

One of the Seattle shows has me pairing up with an old friend, Robert Parks, whose name Hypothermia fans might recognize, as he was the original engineer for that album. Upon my return to mid-Missouri, the Hilary Scott Band will be performing several exciting shows, one of which (September 1st at the Martini Bar) will feature Bill Adams' new duo as an opening act, and guitarist for the Filthy Homewreckers', Jeremy Acton as a guest guitarist. I'm really looking forward to these shows. Check out the Industry News and Gigs sections for more information.

Later this fall, I will be starting an exciting adventure - touring in Italy. As details about cities, venues, and dates are gathered, they will be available on the website, or special edition newsletters. Hope you all have had a wonderful summer and that you enjoy a lovely fall, wherever you may be.

Travelin' the road... Fire In The Sky
Recently, the Kansas City Rockers for Life compilation CD which includes Hilary Scott's song 'Sugar Bomb' was released. This album is aimed at bringing awareness to the problem of drunk driving and its dangers to our nation's youth. The 20 tracks highlight a number of artists from the mid-Missouri region, and especially Kansas City.

Belltown Records has received a limited number of the Rockers For Life CDs, and is making 40 them available for purchase from the Hilary Scott website. The CDs will be autographed by Hilary Scott, and purchasers will also receive a Hilary Scott Band sticker and Road To Hope magnet. $5 of the $15 purchase price will be donated to MADD.

Hilary will begin her first European tour in October, in Italy; dates and further information forthcoming.

Hilary has nearly completed work on 'America's Song,' which is her contribution to the Salute America project, which she was asked to participate in by Keith Colley, esteemed musician and songwriter. More information to come!

KOPN Farewell Interview
    KOPN Farewell Interview
Let's not call it farewell! Full circle is how this story goes, as it was Bill Adams who 'discovered' Hilary on one of her first days in Columbia, MO as she played on-air live at KOPN 89.5, and so it was also Bill who ushered Hilary's 'farewell' on his Blue Plate Special show. For several hours, Hilary and Bill, with friends in- studio to listen along, laughed over wonderful memories from the nearly seven-year (and still counting, folks!) lifespan of the Hilary Scott Band in Columbia, Missouri.

Questions were asked about inspiration for songs, the order in which things occured with the formation of the band, little known tales from the road and the many adventures of the Hilary Scott Band, interspersed with songs from all the albums the band has created over the years.

Although Hilary has moved from the area, this September is the first of several return trips she will take to keep the Hilary Scott Band alive and well in mid-Missouri.

Thank you to loyal, wonderful, Columbia and the people there! And a BIG thanks to Mr. Bill Adams - DJ, band historian, graphic artist, musician, and friend. Be sure to listen to his show on KOPN 89.5, every Friday night!

Hurricane Relief
    Hurricane Katrina aftermath
Our deepest thanks to all of you who have donated so far. Even now, there remains a very great need to help the hurricane survivors.

According to the Los Angeles Times, now - even two years after the storms - families occupy roughly 56,000 FEMA trailers, the majority of them in Louisiana and Mississippi, and a number of those are contaminated with formaldehyde fumes.

Your donation is and will be very much appreciated by those who have lost so much.
