Hilary Scott™......writing a new soundtrack to your life

Fans are saying this about Consonance:

“I get lost in I Just Don't Think I'll Ever Get Over You -

Hilary, you deliver the emotion and then there’s the piano...”

“It takes a real artist with amazing interpretational skills to imagine the deeper possibilities behind the song, Like a Virgin…This version completely eclipses the original in my opinion…(and) brought integrity and sweetness to this song---a far better, classier choice indeed. Somehow, within one listen you accomplished the impossible---you erased the original from my musical consciousness...now (it us) a BEAUTIFUL song with emotional depth and maturity. And, such a lovely, lovely voice...”

“Wes and Hil...I had to come and listen to this wonderful combination of two terrific artist! I just love (and I mean LOVE) 'Steal the world away' and your version of Ewan MacColl's 'Dirty Old Town'...

Singer songwriter Hilary Scott combines intelligent, haunting, soulful lyrics with unique instrumental music to create beautiful audio artwork.  Listeners can be gratified with blues, folk, rock, pop, and classical influences in her music, and yet still find they are listening to something completely fresh and difficult to define.  Lyrically significant, thoughtfully arranged, and excellently performed, Hilary Scott's songs are personal, yet appeal to an extremely large audience.

Hilary Scott’s voice has been described as “amazing”, “powerful”, “extraordinary” and with “the purity and sweetness of the young Judy Collins and Joan Baez”, and she is equally at home on the keyboard and playing guitar and violin.

Hilary just returned from a six-month extended engagement at the prestigious Paris Lounge in the five-star Grand Hyatt in Seoul, South Korea, and is currently touring the midwest with Wes Wingate for the release of their album, Consonance, which is already acclaimed by fans!. Hilary and the Hilary Scott Band will be performing in Columbia, MO in June.  Hilary and her band have opened for acts such as Little Feat, Tanya Tucker, Jonatha Brook and Beth Orton.

 More about Hilary Scott...

Hilary Scott performed solo in the Northwest, but about five years ago moved to Missouri where she formed a six-piece band called LaidDownEight.  LaidDownEight was formed in August of 2000 when Bill Adams, one of her current guitarists, heard Hilary on KOPN 89.5, Columbia's community radio station. It was only Hilary's second day in town when Mike Columbo, a DJ on KOPN who had heard her two previous solo releases, invited her to the station for an interview and to play live with her percussionist, Michael Bielski. As soon as the interview was over, Bill Adams was waiting outside of the control room door ready to ask Hilary to jam with him sometime. From that point, members joined LD8 one by one as people who were active in the Columbia music scene decided to become a part of this new sound. Hilary and LaidDownEight began playing Columbia's musical venues frequently, and soon carved a niche for themselves. Hilary's style flourished as she began working with these musicians whose jam-band past expanded upon the songs she was writing.  LaidDownEight, now known as The Hilary Scott Band, helped her record, "The Floating World," and it continues to perform with her around the Midwest.

Although Hilary Scott produced two albums prior to "The Floating World," this album was the first to be produced on a large scale.   After "The Floating World" was released in May of 2002, it was picked up by music stores, and online sales from this website and CDBaby.com have helped make The Floating World and three more of Hilary Scott's CD's available to the international market. From Belgium to Brazil, DJ's, journalists and music lovers are discovering this new sound and playing a part in spreading it to others.  In 2003, Scott signed with independent record label, Belltown Records.  Her eagerly-awaited second commercial album, "Come In, Come In:  Live", was released on October 24th, 2003.  Produced live in the studio with an audience of ardent fans, "Come In, Come In:  Live" is already a favorite among her followers.  Hilary Scott has also re-released a mastered version of an earlier album, "Hypothermia", which is available on this website.  "Hypothermia" showcases the artist as a solo performer (voice and acoustic guitar) of 10 of the artist's original works.  One of the cuts on the "Hypothermia" album, "Fade to Black" spent several weeks at the top of the COMO Radio on-line music chart.  Hilary Scott's enhanced EP, "Out of the Wilderness", created a buzz with fans and was distributed to college and independent radio stations in the Midwest and on both coasts.  Scott's newest release, "Road To Hope" is a top-flight CD that showcases the very best of the Hilary Scott Band sound and is also being released to radio.   In addition to the five albums produced in the studio, Scott has also released "The Best of Hilary Scott Live, Volume One", a compilation of 12 songs recorded live.

Hilary Scott and Wes Wingate collaborate on an exciting new CD, which has just been released .  You can order your copy by clicking HERE

Hilary Scott and Belltown Records recently sent a 40 Road To Hope CDs and 10 DVDs to our troops in Iraq...in wrapped packages with thank you notes for everything they do for us and to let them know that we are thinking about them here and praying for their safe return.   Chaplains Ken Ballinger, Michael Baker and Ray Rivers are distributing them.   Chaplain Ballinger writes:  "Thank you so much for the personal touch in packaging each gift along with the personal note.  Your caring spirit is obvious.  I enjoyed viewing and listening to the DVD.  I am sure our troops will enjoy it as well.  Thank you for remembering us in your thoughts and prayers.  Hearing from people like you helps keep us going.

Hilary Scott has donated 100 Road To Hope CD's to the non-profit organization, "Support America's Armed Forces".  SAAF supports the health, welfare, and morale of deployed troops, military personnel and their families by raising funds, collecting care package items and issuing grants to military bases, veteran organizations, active duty or reserve personnel, or families to improve the military population's quality of living. They also serve as the connector between the civilian population and deployed military personnel for sending care packages and partner with businesses to secure care packages for military deployment activities.  If you know someone in the armed services you'd like to send a copy of Road To Hope to, you can order it on the SAAF website for $12.99 per copy.  SAAF pays the shipping and uses the rest of your donation to accomplish their mission of helping our troops and their families.  If you don't have a specific person in mind, SAAF will select someone for you.  A number of other artists have donated their CDs as well.  To learn more about this wonderful organization and their music donation program, and/or to donate music go to:  www.supportamericasarmedforces.com/music.html

WOW! WOW! ...I have been playing Road To Hope constantly all week..can't get Hallelujah out of my head...so passionate and powerful...every song on this CD is terrific!  My personal favorite (Dylan should be ecstatic), To Make You Feel My LoveA Fan from Maine

A fan writes, "I remember the first time I saw and heard Hilary. It was on a local TV show in Columbia, Missouri and she sang Sting's "Fields of Gold". It moved me close to tears...and it was done with such authenticity, heart, and soul. I don't believe that I've ever seen anything that touched me so. It was incredible.  And of this I am sure of: when it comes to expressing the depths of the human soul in music, very few singer/songwriters reached the depth of compassion as Hilary does. And that can't be learnt or taught. It's a gift. Her music overwhelms and captures your heart and soul."

Copies of Road To Hope sent to our troops in Iraq by the Capitol Area Chapter of the American Red Cross...Hilary Scott is honored by having 10 copies of Road To Hope sent to troops in Iraq by the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross in Jefferson City, MO.

The Road To Hope CD Release DVD video is now available for purchase.  The video has been shown on public access TV.,on CAT3 TV in Columbia, on JCTV in Jefferson City.   To order the video, click HERE.
