Was I you, was I me, was I anything at all

I knew that you'd stolen from me so delicately

I had you locked up and I'd eaten the key

I was so self contained I was permanently

Hardened into some kind of idol you'd break

The ones that are plastic and may look so nice but are fake

And I whine you say but look who shipped me

So don't speak to me of the wrong choices I've made

Don't try to knock down this same wall that you laid

Brick by brick making sure I was trapped to my ears

Closing me in with all your little fears

I've scrubbed up your cuts and your bruises are yellowing

I'd say the antiseptic is working

It's time that I finally let myself choose
